Estimativas baseadas no censo norte-coreano sugerem que 240.000 a 420.000 pessoas morreram como resultado da fome norte-coreana e que o excesso de mortalidade durante todo o período de 1993 a 2008 foi entre 600.000 e 850.000.[1] A fome foi descrita como resultado das políticas econômicas do governo norte-coreano[2] ou como "fome-terrorista" deliberada.[3]
Estimates based on the North Korean census suggest that 240,000 to 420,000 people died as a result of the North Korean famine and that excess mortality during the whole period 1993 to 2008 was between 600,000 and 850,000.[1] The famine has been described as the result of the economic policies of the North Korean government[2] or as deliberate "terror-starvation".[3]
