1704–11 - mármore. O Apóstolo é mostrado com as chaves do Reino de Deus, símbolo de sua autoridade e um volume a representar as cartas que escreveu e que fazem parte do cânon do Novo Testamento. 
1704–11 - marble. The Apostle is shown with the keys to the Kingdom of God, a symbol of his authority, and a volume representing the letters he wrote that are part of the New Testament canon.

1704–08 - mármore. O Apóstolo é mostrado com a espada que o degolou e um volume a representar as muitas cartas que escreveu e que fazem parte do cânon do Novo Testamento. Também é digno de nota que S. Paulo não pertence ao grupo original dos Apóstolos que foram ensinados e escolhidos por Jesus e, no arranjo escolhido para a Arquibasílica, ele substitui a São Matias, escolhido pelos onze Apóstolos para substituir ao traidor, que suicidara-se durante a Paixão de Jesus.
1704–08 - marble. The Apostle is shown with the sword that beheaded him and a volume representing the many letters he wrote that are part of the New Testament canon. It is also noteworthy that St. Paul does not belong to the original group of Apostles who were taught and chosen by Jesus, and in the arrangement chosen for the Archbasilica, he replaces St. Matthias, chosen by the eleven Apostles to replace the traitor, who committed suicide during the Passion of Jesus.

1715-18 - marble. The Holy Apostle displays one of his symbols, the pilgrim's staff, pointing to his long journeys from Jerusalem to Spain.

1711–15 - mármore. Curiosamente, o Santo Evangelista não é mostrado com o tradicional símbolo de seu livro: um anjo. Entretanto, ele é mostrado a ler o seu Evangelho, presente no cânon do Novo Testamento, e a pisar um saco de dinheiro que está aberto, vazando as moedas, símbolo da primeira profissão do Apóstolo, a de coletor de impostos, que ele abandonou para seguir a Jesus.
1711–15 - marble. Curiously, the Holy Evangelist is not shown with the traditional symbol of his book: an angel. However, he is shown reading his Gospel, present in the canon of the New Testament, and stepping on an open bag of money, leaking out the coins, a symbol of the Apostle's first profession, that of tax collector, which he abandoned to follow Jesus.

1705–11 - mármore. O Apóstolo é mostrado com a cruz, simbolo de seu martírio. Aqui é mostrada uma cruz romana, mas é bastante comum vê-lo com uma cruz tau. O dragão é ainda mais raro, e remete a uma lenda medieval de que o Apóstolo teria vencido um dragão em suas viagens missionárias. O réptil foi tomado como símbolo do mal, do pecado e do paganismo, vencidos pelo Santo Apóstolo.
1705–11 - marble. The Apostle is shown with the cross, symbol of his martyrdom. Here a Roman cross is shown, but it is much more common to see him with a tau cross. The dragon is even rarer, and refers to a medieval legend that the Apostle defeated a dragon on his missionary journeys. The reptile was taken as a symbol of evil, sin and paganism, overcome by the Holy Apostle.

1704–09 - mármore. O Apóstolo é mostrado com um livro, símbolo de sua atividade missionária, ensinando o que aprendera com Jesus e também a serra usada para parti-lo ao meio.
1704–09 - marble. The Apostle is shown with a book, a symbol of his missionary activity, teaching what he had learned from Jesus, and also the saw used to split it in half.

1705–11 - mármore. O Apóstolo da dúvida, aqui, aponta diretamente para o altar onde está o Deus Vivo na Eucaristia. Em sua mão, uma pequena lança, referência ao seu martírio e junto aos seus pés, uma construção, símbolo das igrejas que o santo teria construído em suas viagens missionárias.
1705–11 - marble. The Apostle of Doubt, here, points directly to the altar where the Living God is in the Eucharist. In his hand, a small spear, a reference to his martyrdom, and at his feet, a building, a symbol of the churches that the saint is said to have built during his missionary journeys.

1705–11 - mármore. O mais jovem dos Apóstolos tem a águia, símbolo de seu evangelho aos seus pés, e a atitude de quem recebe inspiração divina enquanto escreve os livros que deixou escritos e que fazem parte do cânon do Novo Testamento: um Evangelho, tres cartas e o Livro da Revelação.
1705–11 - marble. The youngest of the Apostles has an eagle at his feet, symbol of his gospel, and the attitude of one who receives divine inspiration while writing the books he wrote and that are part of the New Testament canon: a Gospel, three letters, and the Book of Revelation.
