ca. 283 - o corpo crivado por frechas de São Sebastião é encontrando por Santa Irene e uma criada, jogado na Cloaca Máxima de Roma, ainda vivo. Elas o atendem e dias depois, Sebastião procura o Imperador para reprovar-lhe a conduta ímpia.
ca. 283 - the body riddled with arrows of Saint Sebastian is found still alive by Saint Irene and a servant, thrown into the Cloaca Maxima in Rome. They tended him and days later, Sebastian seeks out the Emperor to reprove his impious conduct.

1855, 8 Setembro - durante a Guerra da Criméia, o exército francês a comando do General MacMahon ganhou a batalha de Malakoff enquanto um ataque britânico simultâneo ao sul de Malakoff, em Redan foi repelido. O zuavo francês Eugène Libaut ergeu a bandeira francesa no topo do reduto russo. A Batalha de Malakoff resultou na queda de Sebastopol no dia seguinte.
1855, 8th September - during the Crimean War, the French army with the comand of General MacMahon won the Battle of Malakoff while a simultaneous British attack at south of Malakoff in Redan was repulsed. The French zouave Eugène Libaut raised the French flag atop the Russian stronghold. The Battle of Malakoff resulted in the fall of Sevastopol in the following day.
